We are off again on our next great adventure. We just finished our first of four flights to get to our destination of Davao. We are currently sitting in line at the China Airlines counter getting ready to check in. We fly from here to Taipei, then to Manila and finally Davao.
We are all hoping for comfy seats that recline and personal movie screens in the back of the seat in front of us. We got spoiled on LAN airlines coming back from Chile. Once we check in we will find something to eat and then hang out till our flight leaves at 1am in the morning.
I am so excited about going to Davao. For me it is a return trip. I have amazing memories of walking off of the airplane into the small airport and then transitioning to the city of Davao. It has been 21 years, so I imagine some things have changed and others will be comfortably familiar.
Alex Chua is the Vineyard Pastor in Davao that is hosting our team. We will be working with him and his staff for the next week. Once we arrive on Wednesday evening we will have a big welcome dinner with his church. Early on Thursday morning we will head to the mountains to visit the tribal people and the different Vineyard churches and outreaches in the mountain area.
We will be sleeping in a tent or nipa huts along with eight others from the church in Davao. We were told to expect a two hour walk so we are reducing our luggage to our backpacks for these three days we will be in this area. Like I said, the adventure continues. We will not be able to post during these three days as where we are going they do not have electricity, let alone wireless communication! It will be fun to see if my cell phone works there.
Thanks to all for the great send off at the airport. We felt loved.
Blessings,
Chad

God blesses each and every one of us, Day after day we realize how purposeful our lives really are to this word and to the Kingdom. Bless you all for this amazing effort you have set out to do. We love you all, be safe and you are always in my prayers. With love. Justin Stibrany~ I already miss you, but never once have i shed a tear. lol YEssssssssss !
While saying goodbye to you all, I was definitely struggling with the fact that my backpack wasn't with your luggage...but while driving home, I was OVERWHELMED with excitement for you all. Kayla, Bethany, and I spent a long time praying for you all and I couldn't stop smiling and laughing - this trip is going to be incredible, and I'm so proud of each one of you facing the things that challenge you. This trip will change you all. I know the next time we see you in an airport you will be different people. And I look forward to it!
Love you all and we already miss you in this huge house! We actually used the gate last night and then Bethany proceeded to almost drive over it. We'll have to work on adjusting. Wish you had taken more cake with you. (:
Much love - Amy
Greetings all of you keepers of their stuff (as Linda would say)
