Smile God loves you

Today I got to experience something that I would have never thought I would. I had the joy and privilege to help out at the clinic outreach. I loved being able to work with the people and help check in the patients. This was my first time to weigh people before they went in to see the doctor.

One thing that I got a chance to see was boys around the age of 8 to around 10 years old getting circumcised. This surprised me that they would do that out in the open and outside none the less. I know those boys are very brave getting that done.

After we spent a few hours doing that, Andrew and I got to visit 3 homes (houses built over trashy water and only boards to walk on between houses). I say homes instead of houses because there wasn't much of a house but the families there were so friendly and so happy to see us. You know right away that family is very important to the community.

They did laugh at me while I am trying to balance an umbrella in one hand and having someone help me crossing the boards in the other. I laughed as well. No need to make a fuss over a few uneven boards. Though the community was Muslim they were very open to let us come in and pray for them. I felt so welcomed even though they had practically nothing to give but there wonderful smiles and hospitality.

Later that day we where able to do 2 skits for the kid vendors in the market. It was dark at night but even with little light we were able to minister and play with the kids. It was a first for me to actually act like a kid with them. None of them were shy and everyone of them loved the camera. Stickers were running out faster than you can say "God loves you!". I now have a place for them in my heart and I do not think I will ever forget this day.

I am glad everything is going smoothly. I can not wait for tomorrow. Take care America and God bless. I hope you are as touched as I was when you read this. Love Alyssa
